It’s Day 15!
Hey y’all! It’s day 15 and I’m feeling good! I don’t want to keep repeating myself with the same positions in my posts so from now on I’m going to try to not put every little detail in each of my posts. Instead I’m going to post newer things that come up in each session. I will still bring up common positions and stretches that I do pretty much in each session just because I believe they are still important to mention but like I said I don’t want to constantly repeat myself. With that being said, let’s get started!
This session was about 30 min long! I loved it! It was a bit of a workout though I will say that. I don’t think many people realize how yoga can actually be a great workout for your body! I’m not going to say everyone thinks this way but when I first thought was a super relaxing time and more about meditation and stretching rather than it becoming a workout. Little did I know!
I love starting off my sessions with a minute or two to be able to close my eyes, relax, and breathe. It helps me get into the zone more for the rest of the session. She doesn’t always start out this way so if you are the type like me that prefer a few minutes to get in the zone then I recommend doing it before starting!
If you have been following my recent posts then you know how much I’ve been loving the Cat-Cow pose! I noticed as I was doing it I was felling little pops in my wrists and back. It wasn’t painful or anything like that it was actually nice to feel that sense of release from a pose like this one! I also enjoy it when my body naturally pops and not forcefully. A while back when I was in physical therapy, I was told several times to NEVER force your back to pop! By that I mean you know how we all like to do some twists in the chair? Yeah… I used to do it too until they were constantly telling me not to. That’s one of the reasons why I love yoga so much so far because I am able to get into these positions that help me relax but at the same time I’m able to stretch my body in ways I never thought I could AND release some tension naturally. Overall I feel amazing!
Like I already mentioned before, Day 15 was a workout! We did some common poses that we normally do in each one so I don’t want to post all of them but along with those we did MORE! This position right here wasn’t too bad in the beginning because we have done these before BUT on day 15 we did a decent amount of them which got me sweating! I’m not normally a heavy sweater when working out or anytime for that matter but this had me working up a little one for sure!
Another reason why I was feeling the burn? PLANKS! Planks and I have a love-hate relationship. Dang do they burn! It’s a good burn though am I right?! I love the planking position simply because you can feel it working all over your body! You can also add different movements while in this position to work out specific areas of the body which is AMAZING! Hmmmmm now I have an idea for a fitness post soon! Let me know if you would like to see different workout positions involving the plank!
Towards the end of this session we calmed down a bit and I always like to go into a child’s pose because it helps me concentrate on my breathing again plus I like the feeling overall from this pose. Have any questions at all? I’m still learning as I go so I can’t promise I will know an exact answer BUT I’m more than willing to find it for you too! Thanks for taking the time to read my post and if you have a blog yourself please let me know! I have really enjoyed meeting new people so far through my blog so please don’t be shy!
